The questions we get
Who owns the code?
You do: the system, the code and the data, with full access at all times. While we maintain it, it runs in our managed environment, which handles monitoring, patching and backups. If you leave, everything transfers to your own systems.
How much does custom software cost?
Build work is $160 an hour, ex GST, with a realistic estimate before anything starts. If the scope changes during delivery, we discuss the cost before proceeding.
What happens if something breaks?
We fix it, and you hear about it from us first. Someone owns “this broke overnight”. Serious security issues carry a pre-authorised four-hour emergency window so we can act immediately.
Do we need our own IT team?
No. We scope, build, host and support the tool, so you get a software team without hiring one. If you do have IT or security staff, we work with them.
How long until we can use it?
It depends on the size of the project. Small projects can be in use within days; larger builds take longer, and the proposal sets out the timeline. We deliver in reviewed phases, with a live environment available throughout.
What if we stop working with Rendr?
Your code and data are yours and fully documented, so any competent developer could take it over tomorrow.
Can it run in our own infrastructure?
Yes, if you want it to. It normally runs in Rendr’s own system. If you want it in your own system, we set it up there, agreed in writing before the build starts.
